Jürgen Weltin’s Mantika™ News typeface, while complementing the rest of the Mantika super family, was designed specifically for setting highly legible text copy and inviting headlines. The narrow proportions, large x-height and subtle emphasis to the tops of lowercase characters provide for easy reading in columns of text. The display designs have a slightly smaller x-height and shorter ascenders creating appealing headlines while ensuring space economical multi-line display copy.Mantika News fonts have a large Monotype W1G character set enabling the setting of over 20 Eastern and Western European Latin-based languages in addition to Cyrillic and Greek. Proportional figures are available as alternatives to the tabular designs.
